Clinical CT

The CT Division consists of two GE Discovery 750HD systems (General Electric Healthcare). The systems are capable of dual-energy CT using fast kV switching and GE Gemstone Spectral Imaging for tissue differentiation. Further, the systems are regularly calibrated for use with Mindways QCT Pro™ software, enabling qCT without the use of a phantom, enabling retrospective qCT analysis of routine patient scans and affording smaller display field-of- view for greater spatial resolution than phantom-based qCT

Department of Radiology and Imaging – Division of MRI

Seventeen MRI units of different field strengths: 5 – 3 Tesla units (1 – 3T HDx, 2 – 3T 750 DVMR, 2 – 3T Premiere) and 12 – 1.5 Tesla units (2 – 1.5 HDx, 3 – 1.5 Artist, 2 – 1.5 450 DVMR, 5 – 1.5 450W DVMR). All scanners are manufactured by General Electric Healthcare. All systems have state of the art gradient performance with 50 mT/m maximum gradient amplitude and a maximum effective gradient slew rate of 346 T/m/sec with a 100% duty cycle. The systems are interfaced to a high-speed local area network for data transfer to workstations for interpretation and analysis. The magnet rooms are magnetically, acoustically and RF shielded. All clinical image acquisitions will be performed on 1.5T systems running at least the DV26 software baseline (currently the latest available release).

Cornell

Cornell Center for Animal Resources and Education

The Cornell Center for Animal Resources and Education provides a full service animal care center. It is composed of a transgenic mouse core facility as well as a new 79,000 sq.ft. East Campus Research Facility, which can house up to 45,000 mice, as well as other research animal species. This facility is fully accredited by the American Association of Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care, and is in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act. Routine veterinary medical care to all animals is provided by veterinary technicians under the direction of the attending veterinarian. Anesthesia machines, surgery rooms, necropsy rooms and breeding assistance are available. Animals are housed in isolated cages with sterilized bedding, food and water. Rooms where animals are housed are specific pathogen free, and are rated for performance of infection studies at BSL2.
